Living in San Clemente

Oh, San Clemente, California! It’s a hidden gem in Southern California, if you ask me. You know, it’s nicknamed the ‘Spanish Village by the Sea’ because of its beautiful Spanish-style architecture. It’s also a surfer’s paradise thanks to Trestles Beach, which is world-renowned for its waves. Can’t forget Casa Romantica, it’s a cultural center now but was once the home of Ole Hanson, the city’s founder. You’ll never get bored of stunning ocean views as you walk along the San Clemente Coastal Trail.

And yes, the locals are as friendly as you’d imagine. You are bound to see some surf boards attached to vehicles while you are out and about, super chill relaxed, life-slowed down, friendly small beach town vibe. It’s truly a charming place! I’m going to include a pic of a older couple I saw walking by the pier one day, I was in the car not prepared to take pics but I thought it was sweet moment that captures San Clemente quite well!

It’s the last area before you head over towards San Diego, after San Clemente, you have about a 20 mile wonderful, breathtaking coastal views drive on the freeway before you hit San Diego County.  Another great bonus is, it’s a little more budget friendly for a beach city on the price compared to Dana Point, Laguna, or Newport Beach but still a great fun place to call home.
